Shaping frozen shrimps opens up completely new horizons for convenience products. Frozen shrimps or pieces of shrimps can be used in this process: A batch of pieces, selected to make up the target weight, is shaped into a single portion with given contour and portion thickness. There is a wide variety of possible contours: burgers or fantasy shapes, portions or finger food. Breaded burgers turn to shrimp filled crispy pockets upon cooking. Specific contours can be developed on customer request. Shrimps or shrimp pieces might also be frozen to a block having the contour similar to a standard frozen fish block. This might in particular be an option for more convenient storage.
